The Technical Diver Level 1 (Tech 1) course is structured to prepare divers for the rigors of technical diving and to familiarise them with the use of different breathing and decompression mixtures.

Technical Diver 1 training focuses on expanding the principles learned in the GUE Fundamentals course (and elsewhere) to develop essential skills needed for safe technical diving. The class introduces breathing gases for dives to 51 meters and provides an excellent foundation on which divers can build their technical diving experience.  The course provides a working knowledge of:

Double tanks/cylinders and the potential failure problems associated with them

The use of Nitrox for accelerated and general decompression strategies.

Using Helium (in Trimix) to minimise narcosis.

The applications of single decompression stage diving for decompression procedures.

The GUE Tech 1 course is conducted over a 6-day period and involves a minimum of 40 hours of instruction, including 10 hours of lecture and theory material and 8 dives (6 of which will be critical skill dives plus 2 experience dives). Initial dives will be conducted in shallow water to test diver ability and to fill in any deficits in skill levels. The final 2 dives will be Trimix dives at depths of up to 51m.  For more information, visit the GUE website.

Course Cost: $1,950.00 + Boat and Trimix Package + GUE Registration Fee.  For more information on our upcoming GUE Technical Diver 1 Courses send us an email or give us a call on (02) 9369 3855.
