Free Gear Setup Session
Buy a regulator, wing, dive computer, drysuit or scooter from us and one of our instructors will set it up with you, one-on-one, at our Bondi Road shop. It's free.
New gear is only as good as its setup. Hose lengths, harness fit, trim, computer settings: get them right on land and your first dive with it is a good one. We're a working dive centre, and our instructors set up and dive this gear every week. We'll walk you through it so you know how it works, why it's set up the way it is, and how to look after it.
What we cover
- Assembly and setup: putting it together correctly and adjusting it to you (hose routing, harness and wing fit, weighting and trim).
- How it works: what each part does and what to check before every dive.
- Dive computers: the settings that matter, gas setup, and pairing transmitters.
- Care and servicing: rinsing, drying, storage, and when it needs a service.
- Your questions: bring anything you're unsure about.
Sessions take about an hour. Bring your gear, and your mask and fins if you'd like to check the whole setup together.
How to book
- Buy your gear online or in store. Eligible products show "Free gear setup session" under the Add to Cart button.
- Request a session using the booking link in your order confirmation email, or the button on this page. Pick a day, a time window (morning, midday or afternoon) and add your order number.
- We confirm a time with you, usually within one business day. If that day doesn't work, we'll suggest another.
- Come in to 198 Bondi Road and we'll get you set up.

Is it really free?
Yes. If you bought the gear from Dive Centre Bondi, the session costs nothing.
I bought my gear somewhere else. Can you help?
This session is for gear bought from us, but our team can still help with setup, servicing and repairs. See our equipment servicing page or get in touch.
Can I bring my buddy?
Yes. Up to two people per session, which is handy if you're buying gear together.
How soon after buying do I need to book?
Whenever suits you, but most people book before their first dive with the new gear.
