Advanced Shore Dive

One 90-minute dive at one of Sydney's lesser explored sites.

One Long Dive, Up to 90 Minutes Advanced Sites Bigger Cylinder Provided

Advanced Shore Dive is for confident Advanced Open Water divers ready to go deeper and further. Using a bigger cylinder, we head to one of our handpicked Sydney sites — walls, caves, and marine life you won't find on a standard dive — for one long dive up to 90 minutes.

Dive sites

  • We will choose from one of the following dive sites based on conditions.
  • Shark Point, Clovelly — a great dive site with lots of marine life and interesting topography. Big fish, colourful corals and the odd grey nurse shark that hangs around there. Large schools of Kingfish or Yellow Tail Snappers make this dive site one of the best around Sydney!
  • North Bondi — Bondi Beach is not just a beautiful beach, it's also an amazing dive site! Famous for its rocky reefs and loads of marine life. The Cathedral has underwater caverns and swim-throughs and you might see wobbegong sharks and giant cuttlefish.
  • Shiprock, Port Hacking — a wall dive with loads of macro life, a photographer's paradise. The dive site has a bubble cave and all sorts of wonderful creatures like seahorses, pineapple fish and anglerfish. This dive must be done at specific times of the tide.
  • Kurnell, Botany Bay — famous for the Steps, Leap and Monument dive sites, and for the chance of seeing Weedy Sea Dragons. After a fun entry to the water, you'll dive a rocky reef with soft corals. An amazing place to bring an underwater camera.
  • We're also happy to consider dive sites a little further afield, depending on conditions — just let us know if you have somewhere in mind.

Dive

After a detailed site briefing, we will do a long dive with bigger cylinders.

Debrief

15 minutes

Head back to Dive Centre Bondi for logging and debrief.

How do I book a dive?
Pick a date on the booking widget, complete the form, and you'll receive a confirmation email.
What's included in the price?
The guide and the dive. You can select any additional equipment rental during the booking process.
Do I need certification?
Yes — this dive requires Advanced Open Water (or equivalent) certification. Bring your card and logbook on the day.
What if conditions aren't safe?
We monitor conditions daily. If the dive can't go ahead safely, we'll reschedule at no cost.
What if I need to reschedule?
Rescheduling is free as long as it's more than 72 hours before your dive. Inside 72 hours there's a $50 transfer fee.
Can a friend or partner join for the day if they're not diving?
They're very welcome to meet us at the dive site, but unfortunately we don't have a spare seat in the vehicle for them.
I want to do this privately, or with just my friends — can that be done?
Yes! We run private dives and tours for individuals and groups when the scheduled dates don't line up with your availability. Get in touch and we'll arrange one for you.
Where will we dive?
This depends on the conditions on the day. We always pick the best and safest site for the swell, wind and visibility at the time, and we'll confirm where we're heading on the morning.
Where should we park?
Ocean Street North is your best bet — free parking all day, a short walk from the dive centre. From there you can either come with us to the dive site or take your own car.
Can I use my own vehicle?
Definitely. Meet us at the dive centre to get fitted for your equipment — we'll transport it to the site and back for you. If you drive yourself you can head off straight from the dive site instead of coming back to the centre for the clean-up.
Should I come earlier to try on the equipment?
No need. The start time is the time we want you at the dive centre — fitting your equipment is already built into it.
I don't have a dive buddy — is that okay?
Absolutely. We'll pair you with another diver in the group or with the instructor running the session. Coming on your own is completely normal here.
I don't have any equipment — can I still join?
Yes. We have a big range of scuba equipment available for you to use.
