Why Sydney divers are switching
Sydney throws a lot at a fin across the year. In summer you're diving in a wetsuit, warmer water, lighter exposure protection, sites like Gordon's Bay and Camp Cove on a calm Saturday morning. By winter the water's dropped, you're in a drysuit, and the same dive feels like a completely different sport: heavier kit, more weight, different trim entirely.

Most divers end up buying two pairs of fins
Here's the situation we see all the time. A diver gets serious and buys a quality pair of heavy fins for cold water, perfect for Sydney winters in a 7 mm wetsuit or drysuit diving. Those fins are great: negative trim and the power you need in cold conditions.
Then that same diver books a tropical holiday. They jump in the water in the Philippines, Indonesia or on the Great Barrier Reef in a 3 mm wetsuit, and suddenly those heavy cold-water fins drag their feet to the bottom. Far too heavy for warm water.
So they buy a second pair of lighter travel fins. Two pairs of premium fins, two storage problems, double the cost.

Cold-water diving in a drysuit? Pop the heavier ballast weights into the onboard compartments. The fin becomes decisively negative and trims you out perfectly with thick exposure protection.

And the boot problem is solved too
The other reason divers traditionally need two pairs is boot size. In cold water you wear a thick 7 mm boot; in the tropics a thin 3 mm boot or none at all. Most fins won't fit both. The Vector Pro's adjustable spring heel strap has eight size positions, so the fin fits both properly.
