The Fourth Element Xenos Arc 7mm Men's delivers maximum thermal protection for cold-water diving without sacrificing the flexibility and comfort Fourth Element is known for. Constructed from Ocena® - a bio-based neoprene made from FSC-certified natural rubber and recycled car tyres with 82% bio-based content - the 7mm delivers warmth, stretch, and durability in one sustainable package. A dual-layer thermal lining across the chest and back retains core heat during long, cold dives, while low-friction, fast-dry linings in the arms and legs make even this thick suit quick and easy to get on and off. Triple-glued and blind-stitched seams minimise water ingress for consistent performance dive after dive. Hydrolock wrist seals, a Glideskin neck seal, and internal silicone ankle seals keep cold water out at every entry point. Designed for water temperatures below 17°C, the Xenos Arc 7mm is the ultimate choice for southern Australian waters, winter diving at depth, and cold-water expeditions.

Bondi sits around 21–23°C in late summer and drops to roughly 16–18°C in winter. That's a real range, and it's why most of our divers run a 5mm through the warm months and a 7mm — or a hooded vest under the 5mm — once it cools off.

Fit is the whole game. A suit that's loose at the lower back or under the arms flushes cold water through on every kick, no matter what thickness is printed on it. Come in and try it on; we'd rather you left with the right size than the right number.

How thick should my wetsuit be for Sydney?

For year-round diving here, 7mm or thicker. The water sits around 16–18°C in winter, and most people who buy a 5mm to save money end up buying twice.

What is a semi-dry, and is it worth it?

A semi-dry has proper seals at the wrists, ankles and neck, so the water that gets in stays in and warms up instead of flushing through. It is the warmest wetsuit option and the one we would recommend if you want to keep diving through winter without going to a drysuit.

My wetsuit is really hard to get on — is it too small?

Probably not. A thick suit is meant to be a struggle for the first minute. It has to fit like a second skin, because any gap is water moving around and carrying your heat away with it. If it slips on easily, it is too big and it will not keep you warm.

Can I wear thermal layers under my wetsuit?

Yes. A thermal top or vest under your suit is the cheapest way to add real warmth without buying a thicker suit, and the same layers work under a drysuit as well.

My feet get cold. What can I do?

Wear a sock inside your boot. It is a small thing that makes the second dive a lot more pleasant.
