Description
Recreational divers looking for solid performance in a regulator system and ready to step up from their entry-level systems are going to love the MK2 EVO/S270. The S270 second stage features an air-balanced design whose compact casing and internal aerodynamics produce extremely low work of breathing. Teamed with SCUBAPRO's classic MK2 EVO, the only downstream piston-style first stage with internal components specifically designed to resist freezing in extreme cold-water conditions, this regulator combo is affordable and durable while delivering smooth and reliable breathing performance.
Features
Lightweight S270 casing, made of a fiberglass-reinforced nylon core and a special PU outer layer, is extremely durable plus helps reduce jaw fatigue and improves diving comfort
Technopolymer plastic barrel with a metal thread and a balanced valve helps save weight and provides a surface that ice crystals can't grab onto when diving in extreme cold water.
Air-balanced valve smoothes out the inhalation effort when diving at varying depths and supply pressures.
Dive/predive switch is easy to use even wearing thick gloves.
Compact and efficient exhaust tee minimizes exhalation effort
Classic downstream first stage piston design features a chrome-plated brass body with one high pressure and four low pressure ports
Patented XTIS (Extended Thermal Insulating system) insulates the inner mechanism from the environment, improving cold-water resistance and delaying ice formation in extreme cold-water conditions without compromising breathing performance.
Chrome-plated marine-grade brass body houses an oversized piston that provides better breathing performance by increasing airflow

Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our gear, courses, and policies.
What is in a standard regulator setup?
A first stage, two second stages — your primary and your octopus — a low pressure inflator hose and a gauge. You can mix and match all of it depending on how you dive. Talk to us and we will put a set together with you rather than selling you a box.
Is a regulator a one-time purchase?
For most divers, yes. A good regulator, serviced on schedule, should last you a lifetime of diving — it will outlast almost everything else in your kit. That is exactly why it is worth buying properly the first time rather than buying twice.
Balanced or unbalanced?
Balanced, if it is in budget — we would always suggest it. A balanced regulator delivers the same breathing effort regardless of how much gas is left in the cylinder or how deep you are. An unbalanced one gets progressively harder to breathe as the tank empties and as you go deeper, and in cold Sydney water at the end of a dive that difference is noticeable.
How do I save money without ending up with a bad regulator?
Put the money into a good balanced first stage and primary second stage, and go simpler on the octopus. It does not need to match your primary.
Can you set it up for a long hose configuration?
Yes. We change hose lengths in store — just ask when you order. We can also configure a regulator for any technical setup you are running.
I am not sure what I need. Can you help?
That is what we are here for. Come into the shop, call us, or message us online and we will talk it through — on this or any other product, with no obligation to buy anything.
