It's the perfect go-anywhere reg for divers who like to keep their diving simple and fun. The MK2 EVO is the only downstream piston-style first stage with internal components specifically designed to resist freezing in extreme cold water conditions. So you can expect top-notch breathing performance whether you're reef diving the Caribbean or wreck diving the Great Lakes.

The R195 is a modern second stage design that combines a classic downstream valve with a large diaphragm, functional purge and VIVA switch for smooth and easy operation. For new divers as well as veterans looking for an economical regulator that's dependable and that can handle all water temperatures, the MK2 EVO/R195 is not just the best choice, it's the only choice.

SPECS:

* Classic downstream piston design features a chrome-plated brass body with one high pressure and four low pressure ports.

* Patented XTIS (Extended Thermal Insulating System) fully isolates the mechanical elements from the cold, increasing freezing resistance by an average of 50% over its predecessor without compromising breathing performance.

* Additional internal technical improvements include a spring insulating bushing and coating, an insulating piston bushing, an insulating sleeve and antifreeze cap, all of which contribute to the increase in freezing resistance.

* First stage is 3.5mm smaller than its predecessor but houses an oversized piston by 1.6mm that provides better breathing performance by increasing airflow by 15%.

* Stainless steel removable orifice allows for easier maintenance while extending regulator life.

* Second stage features a classic downstream valve and comes with a VIVA switch to control free flows.

* Metal second stage valve housing is built rugged and increases overall reliability.

* Super-flow hose features a larger inner diameter to increase airflow.

* Reversible hose attachment feature makes it easy to use on deco tanks.

* Ultra-comfortable orthodontic mouthpiece is easy to grip yet doesn't inhibit airflow.

Scubapro R195 Second Stage Regulator - USED

How your gas actually feels at 30 metres

A second stage is judged on one thing: how it breathes when you're working, deep, and cold. The difference between an entry model and a good one is obvious the first time you fin into current at 30 metres.

Configuration matters as much as the model. If you dive a long hose — standard for our GUE and technical divers — the second stage, hose routing and necklace all need to work together. We set that up with you rather than handing you a box.

Everything is bench-tested before it goes out and serviced through us afterwards.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our gear, courses, and policies.

What is in a standard regulator setup?

A first stage, two second stages — your primary and your octopus — a low pressure inflator hose and a gauge. You can mix and match all of it depending on how you dive. Talk to us and we will put a set together with you rather than selling you a box.

Is a regulator a one-time purchase?

For most divers, yes. A good regulator, serviced on schedule, should last you a lifetime of diving — it will outlast almost everything else in your kit. That is exactly why it is worth buying properly the first time rather than buying twice.

Balanced or unbalanced?

Balanced, if it is in budget — we would always suggest it. A balanced regulator delivers the same breathing effort regardless of how much gas is left in the cylinder or how deep you are. An unbalanced one gets progressively harder to breathe as the tank empties and as you go deeper, and in cold Sydney water at the end of a dive that difference is noticeable.

How do I save money without ending up with a bad regulator?

Put the money into a good balanced first stage and primary second stage, and go simpler on the octopus. It does not need to match your primary.

Can you set it up for a long hose configuration?

Yes. We change hose lengths in store — just ask when you order. We can also configure a regulator for any technical setup you are running.

I am not sure what I need. Can you help?

That is what we are here for. Come into the shop, call us, or message us online and we will talk it through — on this or any other product, with no obligation to buy anything.
